Cosmopolitan
Engineering Group provided
a key role as part of a consultant team in evaluating
the condition of all the sewers in King County
and the 34 agencies that have separate systems
and contribute flow to the King County system-an
area that serves over 550 square miles. Work includes
coordination with each of the agencies, collection,
and evaluation of flow and rainfall data, modeling
of the sewers, and determining the overall health
of the system. From this information, chronic
leakage areas were identified to determine possible
methods of repair. A list of pilot projects were
designed and constructed. Pilot projects consisted
of $9M of improvements that focused on various
methods of repair with post-construction flow
evaluation to determine cost-effectiveness for
each repair method.
